WZC Gerkenberg:Â Easy linking with existing call system
Learn more about how Nobi lamps make a difference for WZC Gerkenberg.
A particularly symbolic light has been turned on at Welzijns campus Gerkenberg in Bree. In the coming years, 20 smart Nobi lamps will support dementia ward staff by monitoring residents' well-being day and night. Learn more about how Nobi lamps make a difference for WZC Gerkenberg.
Technological integration for even better care
Like the rest of the world, the Belgian population is rapidly aging. This trend will continue in the coming years and increase pressure on our caregivers unless we act today. And that's where Nobi plays a key part. Our smart lamps help healthcare staff give even more tailored care and also take over administrative, repetitive chores. This way, care staff can refocus on tasks that make a genuine difference in the well-being of residents. For example, connecting the lamp with other smart devices, such as blood pressure monitors and digital patient files, is possible. This makes automatic, more efficient administration possible.  Â
Also Welsijnscampus Gerkenberg, a healthcare facility in Bree, uses technology to support its employees. Currently, the center offers functional and comfortable living facilities for older people with various healthcare needs. Their campus comprises a residential care facility, a daycare center, and assisted living facilities. Some 110 healthcare employees provide support for 104 residents.Â
"Happy employees equals happy residents. Investing in smart technology such as Nobi is a deliberate choice for our welfare campus. Our goal is to make work more bearable and enjoyable for our employees. We want to use technology to build a closer, more qualitative relationship with our residents."
Dirk Vroonen, directeur van Welzijnscampus Gerkenberg
Stronger together
The power of technological support is in the integration with existing paging systems. Together we are stronger. That's why we connected Nobi on campus Gerkenberg with Essec Group and their call system iCall. Because of this integration, caretakers are called when a fall occurs through the existing and therefore known call system. This allows them to assist even faster. The connection with the Nobi lamps expands the current call system with new, lifesaving functionalities, making the whole even more user-friendly.
Benefits of integration with existing technologies
- 1 + 1 = 3
Connecting Nobi with existing systems, such as Essec, will allow different technologies to join forces, transforming the whole into a high-performing unit. Â - Ease of use
When linking the lamps with the call system healthcare staff is used to, little will change, leading to people embracing new technologies quicker. - Time-saving
The connection with smart devices such as blood pressure monitors and digital patient files will ensure automatic, more efficient patient data administration. This will save healthcare staff valuable time. - Ensure tailored care with centralized data
Connecting one central call system with various smart technologies can bring useful patient data together. This leads to a source of valuable information that healthcare staff can use to give even more tailored (preventative) care.
Closing the digital transformation gap
With the 'DigiZorg' programme, the Voka Health Community aims to close the digital transformation gap and encourage healthcare organisations to innovate faster, with the aim of improving care for all. They visited WZC Gerkenberg to learn about the Nobi lights.
